The Association was formed in 1993 as the Regulating Branch Association, and it's title was updated to its current one on the change of the official Royal Navy Branch title to the Royal Navy Police. It's membership is made up of circa 200 serving and retired members of the former Royal Navy Regulating Branch and the newly constituted Royal Navy Police. It's committee meets four times a year, one of which incorporates an Annual General Meeting which coincides with a weekend reunion event which regularly attracts between 70-100 members.It is a national body, but committee meetings are generally held in Portsmouth or Plymouth and the annual reunions at different locations around the country.
